There are many types of letter size guides available we recommend the following. 

They include the ruler, which is a plastic mould with two 2 slots to show you the different size letter gaps.

There is also the offical Royal Mail letter size guide which is made from stiff perspex. These are available at many different prices but on average they can be purchased for about £12.99
